The start menu appears outside of the task bar. When I want the task bar to disappear without selecting a windows application, I click on the start button. But then how would that affect the cursor in the Mac? Dunno that either!

Maybe you could install one of the hundreds of "wiggle your mouse" applications meant to keep computers from going to sleep? One of those might be able to configure the location of the wiggle to the middle of the screen or something so the cursor position would then exist outside the task bar. I know this didn't solve your issue, but maybe you have an understanding now. maybe always pass cursor position but not events? Dunno. I don't have any idea how they would handle it otherwise. This is technically a VMWare issue the way they have chosen to handle the cursor causes this issue they only pass cursor position and cursor events to the VM when the cursor is in a region of the screen on which the VM is displayed. It stopped when it landed in the Macintosh desktop. This is because in the Windows VM, the mouse isn't actually moving anymore. Now move the mouse up and outside of the taskbar and you'll see the x,y coordinates stop moving. You'll see the x,y coordinates change as you move the mouse around. The reason the taskbar never disappears is because the mouse cursor never actually leaves the task bar until you make another Windows window active.Īs soon as the mouse leaves the boundary of the taskbar, it enters the Mac desktop space, leaving the Windows cursor behind at its last position, which is still at the taskbar.Ĭlick the "x,y" button to bring up the mouse position tooltip (it will show up in the upper left-hand corner by default)
